Subject: When Sending
Basic Necessities from Abroad to State Institutions, They will be Exempt from
the Document and Trade Policies.
The article of General
Directorate of Customs on "Announcement on Customs Transactions for Aid
Materials Sent from Abroad" dated 07.02.2023 has been published.
In the
aforementioned letter, the basic necessities and other goods sent from abroad
will be distributed free of charge to the people damaged in the earthquake. It
has been stated that if they are sent to public institutions and organizations,
associations working for the public benefit, and foundations granted tax
exemption by the President, they can be imported without being subject to
customs duties and trade policy measures.
In this context,
it has been stated that the relevant incoming goods should be sent to the names
of any of the institutions or organizations listed below, with the coordination
of the Ministry.

• Şanlıurfa Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation
• Kahramanmaraş Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation
• Adıyaman Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation

• Hatay Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation
• Diyarbakir Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation
In addition, in
order to carry out the customs transactions for the goods in question, it has
been stated that it is sufficient to submit the list of goods to the customs
office of entry, along with the transport document, if any.
